Alex - Alex was formally an apprentace of Mia, which makes him a Mercury Adept. He uses his powers for evil, although you don't fight him in the game. Alex has the unique ability of being able to teleport.
Adept - Life form which is able to use Psynergy. Only Adepts can see other Adepts using Psynergy.
Altin - A town that is being flooded by 4 Water Spewing monsters. It is near the beginning of the game.
Altin Peak - The mine that runs through Altin. Some say that it contains a secret passage.

Lord Babi - The ruler of Tolbi, the host of Collosso. He once visited Lemuria, and knows of the secrets of that island. He funded the construction of Babi's Lighthouse. He seems to hold a darker secret.
Babi Lighthouse - A lighthouse built to help sailors in search of the island of Lemuria. It was built on Temple Ruins that only adepts can pass through.
Bilibin - A town near the beginning of the game. It is ruled by Lord McCoy, who also esablished the Bilibin Barricade.
Bilibin Barricade - A barricade set up by Lord McCoy to keep people from reaching the dangers of Kolima Forest.

Camelot Software Planning - The gaming company that created the game. Their other work includes the Shining Force series, Mario Golf, and Mario Tennis.
Collosso - Games held annually in Tolbi by Lord Babi. Only the best warriors may compete in these events that combine endurance and battle skills.

Djinn - Elemental monsters who help you along your quest. Equipping them improves your stats, gives you certain Psynergy, and let's you use their special abilities in battle. After using them in battle you can use them to summon different powerful monsters.
Dora - Isaac's mother. Her husband got killed by the large meteor at the beginning of the game. She becomes quite sad after Isaac begins his quest, and Isaac promised her he wouldn't return until he had finished it.

Felix - The younger brother of Jenna. Felix was thought to have drowned at the beginning of the game, but was saved by Saturos and Menardi. He bares a terrible fate, and has a connection with Sheba.
Fuchin Temple - A temple devoted to the art of Chi. Said to contain a secret Psynergy-bestowing object within it's falls.

Garet - A fire adept from the town of Vale. He is Isaac's closest friend, as well as a bit clumsy and self-centered. He is generally the strongest of all of the playable characters in Golden Sun. He has a sister that makes fun of him.
Goma Range - A passage that leads back to Kalay from Tolbi.

Hamma, Master - The master of Lama Temple. She is a Jupiter Adept, and teaches Ivan the Psynergy Reveal. She seems to have a greater connection with Ivan that is revealed in this game.
Lord Hammet - The greatest merchant ever known in the world of Golden Sun. He uses the Silk Road that goes from Xian to Kalay Docks and Vault to gain his wealth. He is the lord of Kalay, and resides there in a large castle. He is kidnapped by Doponda in Lunpa.
Hesperia - A continent of the Golden Sun world that can't be reached in the first game.
Hsu - A lost traveler from Xian who gets stuck in Alpine Crossing.

Idejima - A part of land that breaks off of the mainland near Lalivero after the collapse of the Venus Lighthouse. Sheba, Felix, Jenna, Alex, and Kraden are stranded on this island.
Imil - A snow-covered town that is the northern most town in the world of Golden Sun. It is plagued by disease, and would be done for if it weren't for Mia.
Iodem - A servant of Babi who aids you in your quest through Suhulla Desert and to Babi's Lighthouse. He seems to be close to Sheba.
Ivan - A Jupiter Adept from Kalay. He gets left behind by Lord Hammet after losing his Shaman's Rod. He is a playable character that has useful spells such as Reveal and Mind Read.

Jenna - The older sister of Felix. Her parents die in the beginning of the game. She is a playable character only for the first dungeon in the game. She gets kidnapped along with Kraden by Saturos, Menardi, Alex and Felix.
Jupiter Adept - A wind (jupiter)
adept.

Kalay - A bustling town with an inn full of tourists. It is ruled by Lord Hammet and Lady Lana. It has several secret sewers with treasure and secret exits.
Kalay Docks - A port to the west of Kalay. It has a Tolbi-bound ship that leads passengers to Tolbi and Collosso.
Kraden - A master of Alchemy who knows the secrets of the Sol Sanctum. He gets kidnapped along with Jenna.

Lady Lana - The wife of Lord Hammet. She is very cautious and does not command her troops to attack Lunpa even after Lord Hammet has been kidnapped and ransom has been sent. She seems upset at Isaac and his group for saving Lord Hammet, but actually is very grateful inside.
Lama Temple - A temple to the west of Alpin Crossing. It is home of Master Hamma.
Lamarkan Desert - This is the hottest place in the world of Golden Sun. If players do not use "Reveal" to find water, they will take great deal of damage.
Lunpa - A town of thieves with unassiable walls. This is the town where Lord Hammet is imprisoned.

Mia - A Mercury Adept from the town of Imil. She was the teacher of Alex before he turned evil, and she is Imil's miraculous doctor. She is a playable character, and has useful Psynergy such as Ply and Wish.
Mars Adept - A fire (mars)
adept.
Mercury Adept - A water (mercury) adept.
Menardi - A Fire Adept of the clan of the North. She is very close to Saturos, and is one of the main bad-guys in the game.
Mercury Lighthouse - A lighthouse to the east of Imil that Mia was supposed to guard. It is the first lighthouse that you will encounter in the game, and it is the first place in which you battle Saturos.
Mogall Forest - An "evil" forest to the south of Fuchin Temple. It features many dead ends and mysterious paths. The key to getting through the Forest is the Psynergy Force. It is not possible to go back through Mogall Forest.

Saturos - A master of fire from the Clan of the North. He is close with Menardi, and you face him three times in the game. Saturos is always (supposed to be) very tough.
Sol Sanctum - Located on top of Mount Aleph to the north of the town of Vale. It houses the inner-chamber and elemental stones that, if stolen, have the potential to destroy the world.

Vale - Home town of Isaac and Garet. This is where the game starts off, and most adepts originate from.
Venus Adept - An earth (venus)
